Job summary

Metrex is seeking a Sustaining R&D Associate Chemical Engineer to drive design improvements and testing for currently marketed products. You will verify, validate, and implement changes while coordinating with quality, manufacturing, and other functions to enhance performance and cost-efficiency.

The role involves creating verification/validation reports, reviewing change requests, and contributing to risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred.
• Relevant engineering experience is required.
• Must reside within commuting distance to Pomona, CA; this is not remote.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D Sustaining Engineering initiatives under general supervision.
• Collaborate with project teams to assess, verify, validate and implement product design changes.
• Create and conduct design verifications, validation protocols and reports.
• Review design change requests to support manufacturing, packaging and labeling changes.
• Provide input on Risk Management activities and participate in GLP-related tasks.
• Perform product testing, evaluation, failure analysis and investigation of customer returns.
• Interface with suppliers and factories regarding product technical issues when required.
• Prepare cost estimates for proposed major design products.
• Travel up to 5% as needed.
