Job summary

Riverside Medical Clinic is seeking a CT Technologist to perform a variety of CT procedures for diagnosing disease. You will ensure patient safety, provide appropriate care across age groups, and handle preparation, monitoring, and safety throughout the exam.

Qualifications include one year in a hospital or clinical setting, ARRT/CRT in X-ray and CT, and BLS certification. The role requires familiarity with Siemens CT equipment and adherence to radiology protocols.

Qualifications

  • One-year experience in a hospital or clinical environment.
  • ARRT/CRT in X-RAY and CT certification.
  • Current AHA BLS Healthcare certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all routine CT procedures including start-up procedures, test scans, program selection, media injections, imaging and exam processing.
  • Monitor patient safety at all times and interview patient prior to CT exam; discuss issues with radiologist when needed.
  • Monitor CT equipment and report problems to the Director of Radiology in a timely manner.
  • Assist with patient transfer and positioning on/off the exam table.
  • Explain the CT procedure to patients, ensure comfort and proper positioning, and follow radiologist protocols.
  • Operate radiographic equipment to obtain diagnostic X-rays and select appropriate technical factors.
  • Maintain records in the logbook and ensure supplies are adequate.
  • Adhere to universal precautions per infection control policies.
  • Assist in teaching programs and staff training as required.
  • Orient new personnel to department procedures.

Summary

Performs a variety of Computed Tomography (CT) procedures for the diagnosis of disease; provides appropriate care and service to patients of all age specific group. CT Technologist exercises independence ingenuity and initiative while performing the exam. Assume responsibility for the preparation, monitoring, care, and safety of the patient.

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Education and/or Experience

One‑year experience in a hospital or clinical environment. Previous training involving all age groups, neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Skilled in Siemens CT equipment, 16 and 64 slice.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

ARRT/CRT in X‑RAY and CT. Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) – American Heart Association certification required.

Essential Functions
  • Perform all routine aspects of CT procedures including start‑up procedures, test scans, program selection, media injections, imaging and exam processing.
  • Effectively monitor patient safety at all times. Interview patient prior to the CT exam. Potential problems are discussed with radiologist if necessary.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure the CT environment is safe and all systems are in proper working order. Report any potential or actual problems to the Director of Radiology in a timely manner.
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, positioning, and transferring patients on/off exam table.
  • Accurately explain the CT procedure to the patients, ensure patient comfort while on the scanner, assure positioning of the patient and successful completion of the exam or the radiologist protocol. Work closely with the CT radiologist taking suggestions, changes, additions or corrections to procedures by CT radiologists.
  • Operate complex radiographic equipment for purposes of obtaining standard diagnostic x‑rays, position patients utilizing various immobilization devices such as sponges and sand bags, and select proper technical factors.
  • Complete standard consultation form and maintain accurate records of all procedures in logbook.
  • Clean and maintain orderliness in assigned area; maintain adequate supplies. Notify Director of Radiology of any shortage.
  • Adhere to appropriate universal precautionary measures as outlined in the infection IIP program.
  • Develop x‑ray films utilizing automatic equipment.
  • May participate in formal teaching programs and in‑service education classes as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required such as orienting new personnel to department procedures.
