Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a transactional attorney to support enterprise contracting, focusing on technology and commercial agreements (SaaS, cloud, data, outsourcing) and AI-enabled tools. This role partners with Strategic Sourcing & Procurement to enable efficient sourcing while managing contracting risk.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with active U.S. bar membership.
• Experience drafting and negotiating technology/commercial contracts (SaaS/cloud, data, outsourcing).
• Strong judgment and ability to translate legal issues into business guidance.
• Experience navigating emerging risks in contracting and technology.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial agreements including cloud, SaaS, professional services, outsourcing, and data-related arrangements.
• Partner with Procurement on sourcing-related contracting and lifecycle activity.
• Support AI-enabled vendor contracting protections when warranted.
• Develop and maintain internal contracting enablement materials and templates.
• Leverage contract tools to improve workflows and knowledge management.
• Potential SME role for managing contract resources, templates, and libraries.
