Job summary

Crunchbase is seeking a Commercial Counsel to act as a strategic legal partner for its Sales, Revenue, Product, Marketing, and Security teams. You will manage a high volume of complex commercial transactions, including SaaS and Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) agreements, while advising on GDPR/CCPA and AI governance.

The ideal candidate holds a JD from an accredited law school, active bar membership, and at least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in tech.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• At least 2 years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience with SaaS and data licensing is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate strategic customer agreements.
• Advise on data privacy (GDPR, CCPA).
• Support the company’s AI governance framework and responsible AI adoption.
• Partner with Sales, Revenue, Product, Marketing and Security teams.
