Job summary

Regional Medical Imaging, P.C. is seeking a CT Technologist Assistant to support MRI procedures and patient preparation at our Flint, MI location.

The role involves assisting technologists in positioning patients, verifying safety, and maintaining room readiness for efficient workflow. Ideal candidates will have 6 months to 1 year of related experience, Medical Assistant certification preferred, CPR/Bloodborne pathogen training, and familiarity with medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year related experience and/or training.
• CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens knowledge or certification.
• Must be able to perform basic medical terminology and history taking.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to explain MRI procedures and verify safety requirements.
• Assist technologist with positioning patients and prepare coils and accessories.
• Gains IV access for contrast injections (does not inject).
• Check and stock scan rooms and patient prep rooms.

SUMMARY

Assists technologists to insure efficient workflow and optimal patient care.

TOP ESSENTAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interviews patients to explain MRI procedures, obtain pertinent exam history (including symptoms, related studies, medical conditions, medications, allergies and surgeries) and to verify the safety requirements have been met for metal objects and implants which may be hazardous to the patient and/or equipment.
• Assist technologist with positioning patients on scanner table and places specified coil over area of interest, confirms patients comfort - (knee cushion, blanket, pillows, fan, etc...)
• Gains IV access as needed for contrast injections – does NOT inject contrast.
• Check and stock scan rooms and patient prep rooms

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

An individual must possess six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Medical Assistant certification preferred, or equivalent work experience and training. Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience including the ability to start IV’s and perform angio-cath injections. Possess basic medical terminology knowledge in order to obtain thorough medical histories. Certification in CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens. Must hold a current ARRT certificate if performing X-ray. Must continue to obtain the recommended amount of Continuing Educations Credits each year for your certifications. Continuing education in accordance of the ARRT, ACR, and State of Michigan.
