Aspire Bakeries in Van Nuys, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to maintain and repair complex bakery equipment, maximize production uptime, and support safe, high-quality manufacturing operations through advanced troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

The role requires mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation experience, a high school diploma with 4+ years, weekend availability on 3rd shift, and the ability to read P&ID diagrams and use CMMS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 4 years of experience in instrumentation, measurement and control systems, electronics, mechanical and/or electrical maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment; or 6 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience in refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and food manufacturing process controls.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control system documentation, including P&IDs, loop drawings, single-line diagrams, and machine layouts.
• Knowledge of equipment setup, functionality, operating procedures, and preventive maintenance techniques.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency using CMMS and computer-based communication tools.
• Ability to operate maintenance tools, equipment, and material handling equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
• Execute major equipment overhauls, installations, modifications, and system upgrades.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment and process control issues to support production.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders in CMMS.
• Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to coordinate activities.

About the Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician III to join our team at our Van Nuys, CA bakery. As a Maintenance Technician III, you will be accountable for maintaining and repairing complex bakery equipment to maximize production uptime, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency. This role plays a critical part in supporting safe, high-quality manufacturing operations through advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment optimization.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 3rd Shift
• Weekend availability: Required (Saturday - Wednesday; Thurs and Fri off)

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $33.57 - $35.32

Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)

• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Execute major equipment overhauls, installations, modifications, and system upgrades.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment and process control issues to support production operations.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions.
• Maintain compliance with safety, food quality, GMP, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High school diploma with a minimum of 4 years of experience in instrumentation, measurement and control systems, electronics, mechanical and/or electrical maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment; or 6 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience in at least three of the following areas: refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and food manufacturing process controls.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control system documentation, including P&IDs, loop drawings, single-line diagrams, and machine layouts.
• Knowledge of equipment setup, functionality, operating procedures, and preventive maintenance techniques.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 4 years of experience troubleshooting PLC software, I/O systems, and field devices in an industrial maintenance environment.
• Experience working with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Food manufacturing industry experience.
• SAP knowledge and experience.
