Job description

Position Overview

The Technician 2, Maintenance for Drug Product Finished Goods (DPFG) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Drug Product (DP) related systems/equipment (e.g., filling line, automated inspection line, formulation, and isolation). This role ensures the systems meet the stringent requirements of pharmaceutical manufacturing, conducts regular inspections and preventive maintenance DP related equipment to ensure equipment is operating efficiently with minimal downtime.

Job Description

Shift: Second shift – 3 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility equipment within the assigned building(s).
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment malfunctions.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of equipment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements, SOPs, and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and GMP quality standards.
  • Provide recommendations to develop preventative maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Perform spare parts assessments as required.
  • Notify management or Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found.
  • Support site operations and emergency work orders during off‑hours as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Effective communication, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of GMP requirements and PLC or other process control systems.
  • Detail oriented, and good problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and processes and train others.
  • Must be able to support 24/7 manufacturing facility, including shift, on‑call, and weekends.
Required Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED with 2–4 years of maintenance experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering or a related field.
  • Prior maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Will work in environment operating a motor vehicle or powered industrial truck – Yes.

  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, etc. – Yes.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time – Yes, 60 minutes.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time – Yes, 60 minutes.
  • Ability to conduct activities using repetitive motions that include wrists, hands, and/or fingers – Yes.
  • Ability to operate machinery and/or power tools – Yes.
  • Ability to conduct work that includes moving objects up to 10 lbs – Yes.
  • Ability to conduct work that includes moving objects up to 50 lbs – Yes.
  • Ability to bend, push or pull, reach to retrieve materials from 18" to 60" in height, and use twisting motions – Yes.
