Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking a Teardown Technician for the ICE to support engine strip/teardown, cleaning high-performance components, and NDT, all while upholding precision and motorsport standards.

Ideal candidates have mechanical aptitude, basic knowledge of engine tools, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. This onsite role collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet production timelines and ensure top-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of engine assembly tools and components.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand basic engine operation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, lift up to 50 lbs, and use upper body strength for cleaning processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the teardown/strip of the ICE assembly.
• Process new and used engine components through cleaning operations using manual and automated means.
• Perform NDT operations as part of the teardown process.
• Perform daily and weekly maintenance on cleaning machines to ensure peak performance.
• Clean complete engines after racetrack or dyno use.
• Assist in uncrating the engine/power unit.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace following safety and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production timelines.
• Adapt to changing work environments and maintain high quality standards.
