Job summary

TRD Toyota Racing Development Company is seeking a Teardown/NDT/Sub-Assembly Technician in the United States. The role involves disassembling engine components, performing NDT inspections, and maintaining build books while ensuring quality and adherence to schedules.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on engine build experience, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or vocational training required.
• Five years’ experience in racing engine build environment is desired.
• Hands-on engine build experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Adapt to a constantly changing fast-paced work environment while meeting production schedules.
• Disassembly of TRD accessories and engine parts (Teardown) following processes and techniques as defined by Engineering.
• Nondestructive testing of TRD accessories and engine parts (NDT) following processes and techniques as defined by Engineering.
• Confirmation of parts mileages and matching to mileage limits for each build/spec.
• Assembling required components to build plan schedule
• Perform testing and inspection of components using bespoke test equipment.
• Perform assembly or disassembly of various sub-assembly components.
• Update electronic build books with component information.
• Including and not limited to, parts issuance to proper work orders, etc
• Responsible for the continuous improvement of engine build teardown/NDT/assembly processes and procedures.
• Inter Department cooperation.
• Input regarding teardown/NDT/assembly tooling.
• Taking ownership of attention to detail, quality, etc.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
