Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand basic engine operation.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, lift up to 50 lbs, and use upper body strength for cleaning processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the teardown/strip of the ICE assembly.
  • Process new and used engine components through cleaning operations using manual and automated means.
  • Perform NDT operations as part of the teardown process.
  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance on cleaning machines to ensure peak performance.
  • Clean complete engines after racetrack or dyno use.
  • Assist in uncrating the engine/power unit.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace following safety and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production timelines.
  • Adapt to changing work environments and maintain high quality standards.

Job Summary

GM Performance Power Units is seeking a skilled and passionate Teardown Technician for the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to join our team in Concord, NC. This role involves assisting with engine strip/teardown, cleaning high-performance race engine components, and non-destructive testing (NDT), all while adhering to high standards and attention to detail. The ideal candidate would be mechanically adept, have a passion for motorsports, and be able to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the teardown/strip of the ICE assembly.
  • Process new and used engine components through critical cleaning operations using both manual and automated means.
  • Perform NDT operations as part of the teardown process.
  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance on cleaning machines, ensuring they perform to the highest standard.
  • Perform cleaning processes on complete engines after racetrack or dyno use.
  • Assist in the uncrating process of the engine/power unit.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to environmental and safety standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to meet production timelines.
  • Adapt to changing work environments and competing demands while maintaining a high standard of quality.
