Job summary

Summary of Job Purpose

Teams Program Manager is focused on providing our Race/DASH coaches and team members with excellent customer service on and off the mountain. This program focuses on training children in the advanced all mountain skills, sportsmanship, discipline, and enjoyment of skiing and riding in a non-competitive environment. The Program manager is responsible for developing and implementing a season training plan to meet the needs of the team. This will include the training, planning and scheduling of staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the development, communication, and successful implementation of the team program plan.
• Train, supervise and support coaches to ensure their successful coaching of athletes in alignment with training plan and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Be the department head acting as the manager in charge and being responsible for meeting or exceeding the overall objectives of the department.
• Ensure that all staff communication is delivered timely, accurately and in a clear and concise manner.
• Attend weekly manager meetings.
• Attend monthly safety committee meetings.
• Develop a sense of team spirit and teamwork among staff and athletes
• Be responsible for achieving the financial goals of the department and operating within the department’s budget guidelines.
• Facilitate and promote regular (weekly) communication among team members, parents, and staff.

• Act in a professional and ethical manner as a positive role model for athletes and other coaches.
• Monitor team conduct to ensure athletes always adhere to the Skiers Responsibility Code. Correct behavior in appropriate manner if needed
• Work closely with the Mountain & Risk Manager and other staff to present highest quality all mountain program possible.
• Complete staff evaluations and assessments. Work with the HR Manager to resolve employee issues.
• Develop coaches’ schedules in alignment with the department’s financial plan and ensure the distribution to staff biweekly.
• Provide timely and accurate information concerning weather conditions, grooming or slope conditions and related information that mayor will impact the athletes training.
• Communicate problems to superiors, while showing initiative in handling routine and emergency matters.

• Requires the skills of a host. This involves approaching guests in a courteous manner, inquiring if they have any questions and being able to respond professionally.

• Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the Motor Vehicle Record qualifications as outlined in the Fleet Safety Program.

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 16 to 32 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods and holidays, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week up to 48 hours

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road surfaces.

Working Conditions

At any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Work is typically outside working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members. It can be noisy, cold, wet, or humid. You may be expected to work in high places and frequently you will work around moving objects.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please always wear your name tag and uniform during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.

Ski equipment must pass a binding function test. Be aware you are responsible for any damage to your equipment while at work

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies.
