Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Memphis is seeking a hands-on handler lead to supervise sort, warehouse, ramp and yard operations, ensuring accurate paperwork and proper methods are followed. You will work with safety-focused teams and perform necessary deice services as assigned.

You will also coach staff, coordinate tasks, and maintain knowledge of FedEx systems and operations to support efficient, compliant operations in a busy, noisy environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Six months FedEx handler experience, preferably in the area of the open position.

Responsibilities

• Lead employees in complex sort, warehouse, ramp and/or yard operations.
• Ensure proper handling of packages/freight and accuracy of paperwork.
• Perform deice activities and provide deice services to FedEx aircraft as assigned.

Job Duties
Leads employees in complex sort, warehouse, ramp and/or yard functions in the proper handling of packages/freight, accuracy/completeness of necessary paperwork and proper methods are followed; thereby, ensuring effective operations; performs deice activities and provides deice services to FedEx aircraft as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED

Minimum Experience

Six (6) months FedEx handler experience which preferably includes three (3) months work experience in work area which has the open position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to successfully complete basic and re-currency training. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Good human relations and communications skills. Ability to coach and train employees during sort operations. Ability to prioritize assignments and make quick decisions with available information. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and delegate responsibilities in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment. Good understanding of FedEx systems and operations.

Job Conditions

Non-covered safety sensitive position; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
