Job summary

New Hope Treatment Centers in Utah seeks a Team Supervisor to lead and maintain the residential milieu, ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for residents.

You will supervise residential staff, oversee day-to-day operations, attend shift meetings, coach staff, ensure accurate incident reports and time records, participate in staff development, assist in hiring, and remain on-call to maintain coverage—incorporating trauma-informed, crisis-intervention approaches.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or 1 year experience in behavioral healthcare (preferred).
• Background checks, drug screening, and state employment clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential staff and oversee daily unit operations.
• Attend and oversee shift meetings and maintain unit coverage.
• Ensure accurate documentation of incident reports and time records.
• Provide coaching and counseling to staff; support staff development and in-service training.
• Assist in hiring Residential Counselors and Team Leads as needed.
• On-call coverage to maintain ratio, including crisis de-escalation when needed.

Since our opening in 1987, New Hope Treatment Centers has been a welcoming place for young people in moments of crisis. The Team Supervisor is responsible for leading and maintaining the residential milieu to ensure a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for residents. This position provides direct supervision and support to residential staff, oversees daily operations, and models best practices in care and safety.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:• Assist in the implementation of treatment plans and ensure follow-through.• Ensure treatment plan protocols are adhered to, particularly regarding special treatment procedures.• Attend and oversee shift meetings.• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the unit as it relates to staff.• Report unusual situations on the unit to the Residential Director and Director of Residential Operations and/or Executive Director.• Maintain a clean and orderly unit, ensuring proper disposal of all waste.• Lead staff and resident activities on and off the unit.• Oversee and ensure the accurate documentation of incident reports.• Monitor staff performance and ensure proper execution of assigned duties.• Provide prompt, objective coaching and counseling to staff.• Participate in staff development and in-service training activities to enhance job knowledge.• Assist in the maintenance of time records.• Assists in the hiring process of Residential Counselors and/or Team Leads as needed.• Responsible for being on call except when on vacation. Will also be responsible for maintaining coverage and may be required to work in coverage to maintain the ratio, except when on vacation.• Ability to safely perform the physical components of restrictive interventions, including approved physical restraint techniques during crisis de-escalation.• Additional duties as assigned.CompetenciesThe Team Supervisor must demonstrate competence in the following areas:• Leadership & Supervision: Ability to lead, coach, and support direct care staff while maintaining accountability and team collaboration.• Behavior Management: Knowledge of youth behavior management techniques and ability to implement behavior intervention plans.• Crisis Intervention: Ability to safely respond to behavioral crises using de-escalation and approved intervention techniques.• Documentation & Compliance: Ensures accurate documentation and adherence to organizational policies, licensing, and regulatory requirements.• Trauma-Informed Care: Demonstrates understanding of trauma and applies supportive, youth-centered approaches.• Problem Solving: Ability to make sound decisions, resolve conflicts, and maintain a safe and structured environment.Minimum Qualifications· High School Diploma· Must be at least 21 years of age.· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record, if transportation or community coordination is required.· Ability to pass required background checks, drug screening, and any state-mandated employment clearances.Preferred Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or 1-year minimum experience in behavioral healthcare.· Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals in behavioral health, residential treatment, or human services settings.#NHTCWV
