Job summary

Sealed Air in Keyser, WV is seeking an experienced manufacturing supervisor to lead production teams on the night shift. You will oversee staff, manage workflow, and drive quality programs to reduce incidents and customer complaints.

The role requires 4+ years in manufacturing leadership, ERP familiarity, and Lean Six Sigma knowledge. You will use tools like PowerBI to monitor run rates, uptime, and yield, while ensuring safety and meeting production targets.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree / technical schooling preferred.
  • 4+ years in manufacturing leadership with increasing responsibility.
  • Solid ERP system knowledge preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma training a plus; Green or Black belt certification preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with stakeholders about personnel issues.

ROLE PURPOSE

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that our products provide a high level of quality that meetscustomer expectation. This position will be responsible for assessment, design, implementation, and executionof quality programs and processes that support the continuous improvement of the business and reduction ofquality incidents and customer complaints. The candidate must be an effective leader who possesses a strongaptitude for data analysis and interpretation of information, technically minded, can work with little direction,and has a good understanding of quality systems and processes.

Shift: Night

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Supervises staff to produce manufactured products and organizes and monitors workflow.
  • Assist Management in assessing individual and team performance and development.
  • Develop team maturity: coach and counsel teams through accountability matrix, motivate team toachieve goals and ensure effective team communication.
  • Administrative: Prepare shift manning schedules to ensure proper coverage and production is achieved.Record attendance and document vacation and holiday taken. Ensure proper handling and entry of ADPtimecards. Document absenteeism and communicate unfavorable trend to the supervisor. Advisemanagement of employee issues that may require their immediate attention to Safety, Quality,Production and Personnel issues.
  • May recommend disciplinary action outside of Accountability Matrix.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of allcontrol points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies andprocedures.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing production standards.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observingcontrol points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementingcost reductions, following reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctionswithin process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and betweendepartments.
  • Training: Close the gap on training. The TPL is expected to identify training gaps of individual operatorsand be able to utilize SPL's (Single Point Lessons) to close these gaps.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, andappraising job results; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results,establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reportingresults of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Provide relevant information to the appropriate stakeholders related to the personnel problems byanalyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing productionperformance records and data, and answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Monitor and act on managing run rates, uptime, and yield. Leverage Smart Factory, PowerBI or otherrelevant platforms and elevate any potentials concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewingprofessional publications and content, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating inprofessional societies.
Education:
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree / Technical schooling is preferred.
Experience:
  • 4+ years of progression in manufacturing leadership positions of growing responsibility, with a preference for experience in Packaging solutions.
  • Solid ERP system knowledge is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of statistical fundamentals.
  • Strong working knowledge of the manufacturing processes or technical background.
  • Lean six sigma training a plus. Green or Black belt certification preferred.
  • Past leadership experience a plus.
  • Specialized quality training or quality certifications a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable presenting to groups of people at various levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects simultaneously.
