Assembly Team Operator Job Description

The Assembly Team Operator is responsible for equipment operation, product segregation, quality inspection, disposition, and documentation, along with manual product assembly as needed. The role includes performing basic preventive maintenance, changeovers, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and specifications. Data collection and product dispositioning are also key responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Perform start-up and ongoing equipment and product inspections as required by applicable documentation.
2. Segregate and disposition products based on inspections.
3. Conduct shop floor data collection tasks.
4. Perform manual assembly and product rework as necessary.
5. Initiate actions to prevent nonconformances related to products and processes, and document nonconformances and holds when needed.
6. Scan products into the MRP system, perform testing using computers, and create traceability labels.
7. Address quality or safety concerns through designated communication channels.
8. Ensure compliance with company policies, FDA regulations, GMP, and ISO standards.
9. Assist in training new Operators.
10. Perform chemical mixing operations.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment

The work involves using manufacturing equipment or working in close proximity to equipment. Exposure to biohazards and chemicals is possible. The environment may range from clean rooms requiring gowning to open production areas that are noisy and have moving equipment. Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, and bilateral hand and upper body motions. Visual attention is required for product checks. Travel is typically less than 5%.
