Overall Job Summary: This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while providing legendary customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

As a Team Member, it is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, fulfilling the following requirements:

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Support selling initiatives (TEAM):
  • Thank the Customer
  • Engage with the customer and/or pet
  • Advise on products or services
  • Make it Memorable
• Perform duties such as operating cash register, merchandise recovery, freight processing, merchandising, assembling merchandise, janitorial duties, price changes, assisting with loading, caring for live animals, and completing documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• No experience required; retail or pet/live animal knowledge preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

• Pet/live animal knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ethical issue resolution.

Working Conditions

• Indoor environment with moderate noise.
• Hard surfaces, adequate lighting and temperature.
• Shifts typically range from 4 to over 8 hours.
• Adhere to safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements

• Non-sedentary role requiring movement throughout the store and outdoor areas.
• Ability to lift or reach merchandise overhead and move merchandise up to 50 pounds.
• Constant standing, kneeling, twisting, crouching, and climbing.
• Operate store equipment safely and effectively.
• Complete all training and certification requirements.
