Overall Job Summary:

This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while providing legendary customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%):

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Support selling initiatives (TEAM):
• Thank the Customer
• Engage with the customer and/or pet
• Advise on products or services
• Make it Memorable
• Perform a combination of duties including operating cash register, merchandise recovery, freight process, merchandising, assembling merchandise, janitorial duties, price changes, assisting customers, ensuring animal safety, and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• No experience required; retail or pet/live animal knowledge preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, write, and count accurately required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

• Pet/live animal, pet food, pet product knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, basic computer skills, and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

• Generally indoor with moderate noise; outdoor areas are hard surfaces.
• Shifts typically no less than 4 hours, possibly exceeding 8 hours.
• Adhere to safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

• Non-sedentary; ability to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
• Ability to lift or reach merchandise overhead and move merchandise up to 50 pounds.
• Constantly operate store equipment and communicate effectively.
