We are a from-scratch bakery seeking a baker to work 2 days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) from either 8am - 4pm or 10am - 6pm. This position pays between $17 - $18 per hour.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs a variety of baking duties and assists with the preparation of breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, cakes, doughnuts, and other pastries.
Duties and Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, rolls, and other baked goods, including icing and frostings, according to established recipes.
- Monitor and maintain quality control standards.
- Care for culinary equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Apply food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards.
General Responsibilities
- Review production schedules to determine the variety and quantity of goods to bake and assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activities.
- Decorate baked items with toppings.
- Shape dough for cookies, pies, and other pastries by hand or using tools.
- Cut and weigh dough into uniform portions, mold into shapes, and place in pans.
- Inspect products for quality and make process adjustments as needed.
- Ensure proper disposal of spoiled or defective products.
- Clean and maintain work areas, utensils, and equipment.
- Prioritize and multi-task work efficiently.
- Operate as part of a team.
- Report for scheduled shifts on time.
- Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Accept and follow directions.
- Perform tasks at an acceptable pace and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements
The physical requirements include:
- Using computer and office equipment.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds frequently and 60 pounds occasionally.
- Standing or walking for 2 hours or more.
- Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs or ladders.
- Reaching above shoulder height.
- Communication skills.
- Dexterity for handling items.
