Job summary

Interstate Batteries Wisconsin is seeking a Warehouse Team Member I to perform distribution center tasks using RF barcode scanners, various material handling equipment, and WMS systems. You will handle receiving, transfer, pick, pack, and ship duties, load and unload batteries, and restock inventory with a strong emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities

• Process receiving, transfer, pick, pack, and ship transactions.

• Charge, test, and date rotate batteries as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment and PPE usage.
• Operate a forklift with current certification and tag pallets correctly.
• Maintain accurate warehouse reporting and logs.

Purpose of Job:

The Warehouse Team Member I has the ability to accurately and efficiently complete assigned distribution center tasks using a variety of equipment including RF barcode scanning devices, material handling equipment - electric and manual pallet jacks, stand-up and sit-down forklifts, WMS applications, and other shipping applications.

Job Components:

• Accurately process system and manual transactions (receiving, transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• Load and unload batteries
• Restock batteries
• Charge, clean, date and rewrap rotations
• Charge, test, clean, and date adjustment batteries
• Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment
• Accurately maintain warehouse reporting and claims
• Operate a forklift and maintain a current certification
• Properly tag pallets (for transfer, pick, pack, ship)
• General warehousing duties (such as restocking shelves and housekeeping of assigned areas)
• Ability to multi-task and/or quickly transition from one function/task to the next function/task
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by warehouse distributor management

Qualifications:

• High school graduate
• Written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
• No experience required.
• Experience in warehouse operations preferred - including RF/HH equipment, forklift, electric pallet jack and stretch-wrap machine preferably in warehouse environment
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn applicable systems required
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Sense of urgency and well organized

Work Environment:

Be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, without assistance and occasionally lifting up to 75lbs Consistent walking or walking during shift Repetitive taping of boxes Overtime required as deemed necessary Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, such as exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals
