Summary
The Team Leader provides day-to-day leadership and support to members of the East Main team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment. As the primary point of contact on shift, the Team Leader is responsible for setting clear expectations, promoting accountability, and modeling integrity in all actions and decisions. The is a 3rd shift position working Sunday through Thursday, 11:00pm to 7:00am.
Summary

This role plays a vital part in guiding the team toward achieving departmental, process, and shift goals through effective communication, relationship-building, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The is a 3rd shift position working Sunday through Thursday, 11:00pm to 7:00am.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Fosters a positive team culture by cultivating an engaging and inclusive team environment. Models and reinforces Sartori’s Values in Action, creating a culture of mutual respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Leads, coaches, and develops Team Members by providing daily leadership and coaching. Empowers them to meet or exceed performance targets related to production efficiency, safety compliance, training completion, and food safety standards.
- Supports a culture of cleanliness and safety by organizing and directing daily sanitation activities and ensuring all cleaning tasks are executed according to the master sanitation schedule. Reinforces compliance with company safety, HACCP, and GMP policies.
- Manages scheduling and attendance by developing and maintaining accurate daily staffing schedules based on production needs. Oversees timekeeping and ensuring proper shift coverage to support uninterrupted operations.
- Effectively communicates production updates, process changes, and operational challenges clearly and promptly with Team Members to ensure alignment and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Responds to food safety and quality Issues by taking immediate action to report any potential food safety or product quality concerns to the appropriate personnel. Supports Sartori’s commitment to delivering safe, high-quality products.
- Collaborates with the Production Planning Team to effectively coordinate and prioritize work orders. Ensures timely execution to meet production objectives and customer demand.
- Ensures regulatory and policy compliance by adhering to and enforcing all company policies related to safety, HACCP, GMPs, and other regulatory requirements. Actively promotes a culture of safety and compliance.
DIRECT REPORTS:This position is not responsible for leading team members.
Qualifications

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalency is required (GED).
- Minimum of 2 years of related leadership experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of food manufacturing/converting experience required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Internally trained and certified to operate material handling equipment as required.
HACCP certification preferred.
PCQI certification preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The Team Member is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Team Member frequently handles, lifts and place cheese wheels up to 25 lbs. There are occasions when a team member may need to lift ingredients and containers up to 50 pounds during an initial receipt of these materials. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here represent those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member will occasionally be exposed to extreme, non-weather-related cold as well as wet and/or humid conditions. On a typical workday, the Team Member will work in refrigerated conditions with temperatures ranging from 35-60 degrees. The Team Member will work around safeguarded machinery with rotating, mechanical parts, and conveyor belts. The Team Member will occasionally be exposed to caustic and/or toxic chemicals used for sanitation and cleaning. Due to the loud noise levels, ear protection is required.
