Description
This is a full-time position 40+ hours a week, hours vary in Red Oak, IA.
This position is hire bonus eligible.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assure that all requirements are being met in accordance with all licensing and governing entities.
- Perform interviews and complete agency paperwork for hiring new staff.
- Responsible for direct supervision of staff.
- Implement and monitor training of introductory staff, including completion of training objectives.
- Discipline staff when performance falls below standards, up to and including termination.
- Evaluate staff in accordance with agency policies.
- Schedule staff hours to ensure all individuals’ needs are met and budgeted hours are maintained.
- Work on-site or with individuals served as needed and assigned.
- Manage all complaints/grievances presented by staff/persons served.
- Oversee safety and security of staff, persons served, and agency properties.
- Act as a liaison with Director of Residential Services regarding all operations and daily routines.
- Ensure all staff consistently train, teach, and assist individuals served as outlined in their Person-Centered Plan.
- Orient new residents and complete skills assessments.
- Communicate all pertinent information to individual’s assigned Program Coordinator to ensure quality care.
- Read and audit all documentation and data collection per person served to ensure compliance with agency policies and Medicaid rules and regulations.
- Attend all individuals’ annual staffings and share pertinent information regarding the person receiving services.
- Maintain expenditures at reasonable levels and obtain approval for purchases in accordance with established policies.
- Chair staff meetings and schedule staff to attend any needed training sessions.
- Stay informed of all programming and administrative information by attending all required meetings and training and by reading and sharing pertinent information.
- Supervise and monitor the finances of individuals served.
- Supervise daily care of individuals served to ensure quality care.
- Coordinate health care for individuals served to ensure quality care.
- Serve on agency committees as assigned by Director of Residential Services.
- Verify accuracy and compute totals of chore sheets and reimbursement forms.
- Verify and approve staff time worked on the ADP timekeeping system.
- Complete monthly census.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by Director of Residential Services and Executive Director.
- Complete all Social Security and DHS paperwork as needed to maintain individuals’ eligibility for services.
- Assist individuals receiving services with their activities of daily living, such as meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping, toileting, and bathing.
Essential Functions:
- Provide quality care to individuals served.
- Provide a supportive and therapeutic atmosphere for all staff and individuals served.
- Complete interviewing, hiring, and firing of staff as needed.
- Evaluate staff in accordance with agency performance evaluation policies and procedures.
- Supervise staff performance of all duties.
- Train and orient introductory staff.
- Provide transportation to individuals served as needed.
- Act as a liaison between staff and daily operations with Director of Residential Services.
- Ensure compliance with all governing agencies’ rules and regulations and Nishna Productions, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Provide needed training to individuals served.
- Participate in all agency investigations as assigned.
- Act as a positive role model for all staff and individuals served.
- Work all the hours needed to ensure the needs of the individuals served are met.
- Travel among all locations where residential services are provided.
- Ability to complete electronic documentation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Individuals must not have or be a carrier of a serious infectious or communicable disease.
- If required, must have or be willing to obtain education/training to meet the qualifications needed to be an RCF Group Home Administrator.
- Prefer two years’ experience in residential services.
- Prefer two years supervisory experience.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in immediate decision-making situations.
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical and TB test when hired and every four years thereafter.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing.
- Must possess positive leadership skills.
- Ability to perform routine household duties.
- Must be willing to work with individuals that have behavior disorders.
- Must have the desire to work as a member of a team.
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Iowa Chauffeur’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Must be physically capable of assisting individuals as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel from place to place, up to 70 miles round trip.
- Must be able to enter individuals’ homes that may or may not be accessible to everyone.
- Must be able to work a full schedule as needed and assigned.
- Must be able to carry supplies as needed to complete job duties.
- Must be able to provide physical care as needed to individuals during direct care duties.
- Ability to physically assist an individual to regain balance or to transfer from a sitting, standing, or prone position.
- Demonstrate ability to perform needed household tasks.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
