The Team Leader is responsible for assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with the execution of operational, sales, and merchandising objectives by delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. The Team Leader is also responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment for all Team Members, customers, and vendors, as well as training Team Members on the appropriate application of policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

It is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, as you must be able to fulfill all of the following requirements:

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Work scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following policies and procedures.
  • Deliver Legendary Customer Service through GURA: Greet, Uncover Needs & Wants, Recommend Solutions, Add Value & Appreciate.

The Team Leader is expected to perform a combination of duties during 95% of their day, including but not limited to:

  • Executing merchandising activities, opening/closing procedures, transporting deposits, assessing store conditions, organizing workflow, merchandise recovery, participating in freight processes, price changes, resolving customer issues, adhering to loss prevention, communicating with team members, operating cash registers, assisting with policies, caring for poultry, operating forklifts and balers, completing documentation, and obtaining necessary licenses or certifications.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Retail, farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus. Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

Preferred skills and abilities

Basic computer skills, strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and the ability to perform all responsibilities of Team Members.

Working Conditions
  • Primarily indoor with moderate noise; outdoor work possible in adverse weather.
  • Shifts generally range from 4 to over 8 hours, varying by store.
  • Adherence to safety guidelines is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to handle merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds and operate store equipment.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, reach, climb ladders, and move throughout the store.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and complete documentation accurately.
  • Ability to handle birds/poultry and complete training for propane dispensing and vehicle operation as needed.
