Position SummaryThe Team Lead will be responsible for assisting the Departments Supervisor with continuous workflow and ensuring employees are performing work safely and accurately. The Team Lead assists in training new and existing employees in job duties and coaches team members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills that drive results. They will aid in resolving conflict within the team and proactively respond before it escalates.Essential ResponsibilitiesDelegates tasks and sets deadlines for team goalsCreates a positive team environment with an open communication culture.Trains team members on job duties, safety, company policies and procedures.Directs product flow of incoming or outgoing loads to best utilize warehouse space and customer needs.Oversees that the daily operations run smoothly and assists team with questions, issues, or problems, monitoring for overall efficiency of department.Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay the timely movement of freight, including advising customer service of carrier issues from pick-up and deliveries.Reviews paperwork is completed per department requirementsCommunicates any discrepancies, product issues or safety issues with SupervisorSuccessfully passes Novo training and follows all safety requirements establishedParticipates in the safety team leadershipPerforms warehouse activities to include receiving, stocking, pulling, banding/staging, and loading.Performs other duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (Required)Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirementsUse of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environmentAbility to move awkward product lengths and weightsBasic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skillsAbility to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.Must be 18 years of age or olderFlexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as neededPreferred QualificationsPrior leadership experience in distribution or manufacturing environmentExperience operating a power industrial equipmentPrior experience lifting wide loads, as long as 18 feetMinimum one year experience operating a forkliftHigh School Diploma or GEDTravel RequirementsNo travel requirementsPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust100%: Stand, handle or feel, squeeze or grasp80%: Reaching with hands and arms, depth perception50%: Walk, repetitive motion, operate moving equipment10: Working bent at waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bending or twistingLift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. without assistance.Lift, push or pull 75-100 lbs. with assistance.
