Job summary

Smart Warehousing in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Team Lead to ensure warehouse operations run efficiently and safely. You will lead shift tasks and support the guidance from the Warehouse Supervisor to drive productivity.

You will train new hires, enforce SOPs, manage packing, shipping, and inventory, and maintain a clean, organized workspace while promoting teamwork and timely communication with management. Experience with forklift operation and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or GED required.
• Knowledge of shipping process and equipment.
• Proven initiative and sense of urgency in task completion.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel), web navigation and basic hardware experience (IE: Ship stations).
• Strong oral and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; ability to quickly build rapport with employees.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Follows warehouse procedures including sorting, loading/unloading, shipment processing and documentation, manifesting, packaging, and sending shipment status information.
• Operates a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
• Maintain safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may perform Order Filler and Checker duties.
• Motivates, organizes, and encourages teamwork to meet productivity targets.
• Evaluates, prioritizes, deploys, and completes the daily work.
• Picks, packs, and ships orders accurately and efficiently.
• Keeps workspace clean and organized; puts away miss picks and cancelled orders.
• Ensures workstations are stocked with supplies and tools.
• Trains new hires within area of responsibility.
• Reinforces SOPs and coaching to achieve productivity.
• Performs packaging supplies inventory weekly.
• Communicates issues to management.
• Leads the team professionally and with a positive attitude.
• Completes other duties as assigned by Warehouse Leadership.

POSITION SUMMARY

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Follows warehouse operational procedures including sorting, loading/unloading activities, shipment processing and documentation, manifesting, packaging, and sending shipment status information.
• Operates a forklift (or other equipment) to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise.
• Responsible for maintaining safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties.
• Motivates, organizes, and encourages teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met.
• Evaluates, prioritizes, deploys, and completes the daily work.
• Picks, packs, and ships orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintains a clean and orderly workspace.
• Puts away miss picks and cancelled orders daily.
• Ensures workstations are stocked with supplies and tools.
• Trains all new hires within area of responsibility.
• Reinforces SOPs and best practices. Provides coaching as needed to ensure high level of productivity and efficiency is achieved.

• Completes other duties as assigned by Warehouse Leadership.

Qualifications

Physical Or Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to see, hear, talk, write, read, stand, walk, bend over, and be alert at all times. The employee is frequently required to use hands to type, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. While infrequent, employee may need to visit warehouse locations in which employee may need to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, drive (vehicle), stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
