Description

The Security Commercial and International Sector Security Enterprise Solutions division at Leidos currently has an opening for a Team Lead Technician for Ports and Borders. This is an exciting position where you will use your experience to lead a team installing Non-Intrusive Inspections systems, including Medium Energy Portals (MEP) and Low Energy Portal (LEP) at customer sites in CONUS and abroad. This position will travel weekly to customer sites and oversee installation and integration with MEP and LEP security systems. You must be team oriented and flexible, and actively seek to share information and assist one’s peers. Expect 100% weekly travel; primarily domestic, future international travel can be expected. Must be flexible to work days and nights. Possesses excellent leadership and communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrates strong electronic repair troubleshooting methodology and maintains an expert technical level of product knowledge after training. Be ethical and professional, act with integrity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Installs and commissions Non-Intrusive Inspection systems.
  2. Installs, repairs, and modifies equipment in the field; provides customer training as directed.
  3. Performs a variety of technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or factory locations.
  4. May be called upon to work on equipment that has little or no documentation or training.
  5. Meets weekly project installation goals within required deadlines.
  6. Ensures that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
  7. Assesses product/equipment performance based on experience and support data; recommends modifications or improvements to equipment, documentation, and operating processes.
  8. Seeks to provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.
  9. Maintains clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written.
  10. Travel, overtime and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required.
  11. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
  12. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
  13. Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
  14. Willing to work on challenging international projects for short durations.
  15. Work well with peers from various backgrounds to build effective work relationships.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Current U.S. Citizen
  2. HS degree or equivalent.
  3. 5+ years’ experience in field or installation service environments
  4. Candidates may be located anywhere within CONUS as weekly travel is required.
  5. Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
  6. Working knowledge of x-ray and/or CT technologies.
  7. Must pass criminal background check, drug test and extensive credit check.
  8. Physically able to get in narrow spaces, climb ladders / stairs, and carry 50+ lbs. without assistance.
  9. Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License with Real ID.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous Field Service installation experience a plus.
  2. PLC experience is a plus.
  3. Previous field electrical assembly experience.
  4. Software integration with electric/mechanical equipment.
  5. Previous hands-on project management is a plus.

Work Environment:

  1. Work environment is typically considered to be off-site, wherever the customer of concern is located. Installation will typically be rendered at borders located throughout the U.S.
  2. Typical travel requirement is up to 100%.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
