Job summary

College of DuPage, located near Chicago, seeks a Team Lead System Analyst Programmer (FT) to oversee programmer analysts and drive software solutions across the college's information systems. The role focuses on planning, directing, and evaluating work, ensuring projects meet standards and deadlines while delivering high-quality applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in systems analysis, systems design, application development, programming, or related systems development, including experience working in web-based and cloud environments.
• Experience in project leadership, team leadership, or supervisory responsibilities is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and software development practices.
• Demonstrated experience with systems analysis, database design, software architecture, and application development.
• Experience with Crystal Reports, SQL Server, and/or ad hoc reporting tools.
• Familiarity with modern project management and software development methodologies.
• Experience with enterprise application systems; experience with Ellucian Colleague and/or Business Objects is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical and business requirements, identify solutions, and resolve problems effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, coordinate resources, and meet competing deadlines.
• Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring, or training to other technical staff is preferred.
• Experience participating in employee performance management, staff development, or other supervisory functions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise programmer analysts by assigning work, establishing priorities, monitoring workloads, and ensuring projects are completed within established timelines and quality standards.
• Provide technical direction and reviews of design, programming, testing, and implementation activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop project plans and technical specifications.
• Mentor staff and support professional development and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate resources and prioritize assignments to meet departmental objectives.
• Lead project teams through analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions.
• Review and approve technical work products to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
• Partner with IT leadership and business units to align technology with business needs.
