Team Lead-Registration - Bloomington - Full Time

Overview

Provides functional guidance to support staff and performs the duties of a registration specialist in accordance with organization standards. Oversees patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Obtains specific information to generate an accurate financial and demographic record for patients that will ensure maximum reimbursement and clinical outcomes. Schedules appointments, interviews patients for appropriate medical information, explains charges and policies of the department/hospital, validates and enters charges into appropriate systems, and collects necessary payment. Answers incoming calls and directs patients and visitors appropriately. Expected to precept current RS team members as requested by leadership. Performs higher-level functions appropriate for the clinic defined by clinic management. Participates annually in Rapid Improvement Events and/or Quality Improvement projects. Performs monthly rounding. Coaches, mentors, and develops the Registration team.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3+ years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting
• Coding experience preferred
• Successful completion of Foundation of Leadership within 6 months of role assumption or Emerging Leaders program
• CMAA certification required. Those in the Team Lead - Registration Specialist role at the time of transition will be prioritized for certification exam cohorts. Certification must be achieved within one year of career ladder implementation; failure may result in reassignment and potential pay decrease.
