Job summary

Miller Electric Mfg. LLC in Appleton, WI is seeking a hands-on supervisor who will guide production teams, coordinate schedules, and uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience reading assembly drawings and bills of materials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Production Coordinator with team decisions for quality, cost, and delivery.
• Drive Employee Involvement (EI) and problem solving.
• Lead team to meet production goals and schedules.
• Schedule production and coordinate manpower and vacation coverage.
• Ensure attendance policies and breaks are followed.
• Monitor efficiencies and provide feedback to management.
• Support employee training and cross-training initiatives.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation as required.
• Team lead duties vary with workload and cross-functional needs.
• Overtime may be required, including weekends.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist PC with;
• Team decisions that will result in the best quality, cost, and delivery.
• Facilitation/driving of E.I. (Employee Involvement) and problem solving.
• Driving team and business goals.
• Scheduling production.
• Coordinating manpower, and vacation coverage to meet production needs.
• Monitoring all policies and ensuring adherence to include but not limited to: attendance, breaks, and identification of problem patterns.
• Monitor and drive efficiencies.
• Provide constructive feedback to management.
• Provide reliable, fair and unbiased feedback for employee evaluations
• Involvement in new employee training and cross training.
• Other tasks/functions as deemed necessary by PC and/or Operations Director.
• Team lead responsibilities are in addition to production responsibilities and the time spent each day will vary based on workload and team needs.
• Manufacturing documentation completion as required in each center of excellence.

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or in pursuit of Associates degree preferred with desire to advance into higher level management levels.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of the centers of excellence.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to motivate and coach a group of team members to achieve company, business, and team goals.
• Successful record of building positive relationships with co-workers and management.
• Strong verbal, written, and communication skills. Successful with being in front of a group and communicating business information.
• Commitment to teamwork.
• Self-Accountable, Self-Disciplined, and reliable nature.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude.
• Previous on the job training experience.

• Basic computer skills – Microsoft Office experience preferred.

• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and bills of material.
• Good manual dexterity required.
• Overtime may be required, including weekends.
• Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours per day and lift up to 50lbs.
