Job summary

Selby Jennings is assisting a leading HFT firm in Chicago to hire a Team Lead for a brand-new back-office engineering function. This founding engineer role offers ownership of the greenfield build, shaping architecture and internal platforms from the ground up.

You will mentor a small team of engineers while continuing to contribute as an individual contributor, enjoying high autonomy and influence over technical direction. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams or managing engineers is a plus.
• Strong ownership and autonomy on greenfield projects.
• Ability to design and scale internal platforms.

I'm working with a leading HFT firm in Chicago that's hiring a Team Lead to help build and scale a brand-new team within back-office engineering.

This is an opportunity to join as the founding engineer of a greenfield buildout. You'll help build and scale a new function from the ground up, owning the architecture and development of critical internal platforms while helping shape the team's direction. Lots of ownership and autonomy, with the opportunity to mentor and lead a small team of engineers, while remaining an individual contributor.
