The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a Team Lead for Informatics and Evaluation to oversee projects aimed at tuberculosis control. The New York City (NYC) Bureau of Tuberculosis Control (BTBC) is committed to preventing the spread of tuberculosis (TB) and eliminating it as a public health problem in NYC. The bureau's core goals include identifying individuals with suspected or confirmed TB, ensuring their treatment (preferably on directly observed therapy - DOT), and managing high-risk individuals to prevent disease progression. The Office of Surveillance, Informatics, and Evaluation conducts TB surveillance, maintains the TB registry and case management system (Maven), partners across the agency in public health informatics projects, and performs data analysis and research to inform TB policy. It also coordinates interjurisdictional transfers of TB patients to ensure continuity of care.
We are seeking a candidate for the role of Team Lead for Informatics and Evaluation. This person will oversee approximately six staff members, guiding informatics projects, epidemiologic analyses, and program evaluation under the guidance of the Office Director. Responsibilities include data analysis for epidemiological monitoring, supporting data-driven decision-making, fulfilling reporting requirements, managing data requests, and coordinating cross-divisional projects. The role also involves serving as a lead Maven administrator, troubleshooting, system development, and oversight.

For Assignment Level I: A master's degree in a relevant field of physical, biological, environmental sciences, or public health. For Level II and above: a doctorate with supervisory or research experience, or a master's with extensive research experience.
