Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.

  • OSHA safety, quality standards, and company policies knowledge.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications and SAP or similar systems.
  • English reading/writing/speaking to follow job and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Supervisor/Manager in coordinating daily departmental operations.
  • Lead and participate in daily meetings, including safety discussions and performance reviews.
  • Enforce safety policies, environmental regs, quality standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor performance and ensure adherence to quality requirements.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate team members, including new hires.
  • Provide hands-on support and fill in for team members as needed.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and system entries (production, maintenance, safety, downtime).
  • Identify opportunities for safety, quality, maintenance, or efficiency improvements.
  • Assist in audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Support TPM, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and cross-functional departments.
  • Ensure teams have proper tools and resources.
  • Complete additional assignments as directed by management.

Team Lead - Finishing Line
Job Summary

The Team Lead is a frontline leadership role responsible for supporting and coordinating the day-to-day operations of their assigned department at Axis Pipe and Tube. This position leads and supports team members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations while maintaining compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. The Team Lead serves as a working leader who provides guidance, training, oversight, and operational support to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities

Support the Supervisor/Manager in coordinating daily departmental operations.

Lead and participate in daily meetings, including safety discussions and performance reviews.

Promote and enforce compliance with safety policies, environmental regulations, quality standards, and company procedures.

Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to operational and quality requirements.

Train, coach, and evaluate team members, including new hires and transfers.

Provide hands-on operational support and fill in for team members as needed.

Ensure accurate completion of required documentation, reports, and system entries (e.g., production, maintenance, safety, quality, downtime, or related systems).

Monitor equipment, processes, and work areas to identify and address safety, quality, maintenance, or operational improvement opportunities.

Assist in audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions as required.

Support preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., TPM, 5S, efficiency projects).

Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional departments.

Ensure team members have the proper tools, training, and resources to perform their duties.

Complete additional assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; additional technical training or education preferred.

Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; leadership or progressive responsibility preferred.

Area‑specific technical knowledge relevant to assigned department.

Working knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), quality standards, and company policies.

Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple activities.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) and ability to learn company systems (e.g., SAP or other operational software).

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequently required to use hands, reach with arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Occasionally required to sit.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to work in a manufacturing/industrial environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and noise levels.
