Job summary

Axis Pipe and Tube Inc in Bryan, TX is seeking a Team Lead for the Finishing Line to supervise daily operations, ensure safety, quality, and production targets, and support the shift through hands-on leadership.

The role emphasizes training, coaching, and evaluating team members, maintaining documentation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives such as TPM and 5S while coordinating with other departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
• 1–3 years in manufacturing or industrial leadership is preferred.
• OSHA safety, quality standards, and company policies knowledge.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize.
• Proficient in basic computer applications and SAP or similar systems.
• English reading/writing/speaking to follow job and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Supervisor/Manager in coordinating daily departmental operations.
• Lead and participate in daily meetings, including safety discussions and performance reviews.
• Enforce safety policies, environmental regs, quality standards, and procedures.
• Monitor performance and ensure adherence to quality requirements.
• Train, coach, and evaluate team members, including new hires.
• Provide hands-on support and fill in for team members as needed.
• Ensure accurate documentation and system entries (production, maintenance, safety, downtime).
• Identify opportunities for safety, quality, maintenance, or efficiency improvements.
• Assist in audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Support TPM, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with employees and cross-functional departments.
• Ensure teams have proper tools and resources.
• Complete additional assignments as directed by management.
