The role combines hands‑on leadership with coaching, training, and performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED and 1–3 years in manufacturing; knowledge of OSHA regulations, quality standards, and company policies is essential.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; additional technical training preferred.
1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; leadership preferred.
Area-specific technical knowledge relevant to assigned department.
Working knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA), quality standards, and company policies.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple activities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in basic computer applications and ability to learn company systems (e.g., SAP).
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Support the Supervisor/Manager in coordinating daily departmental operations.
Lead and participate in daily meetings, including safety discussions and performance reviews.
Promote and enforce compliance with safety policies, environmental regulations, quality standards, and company procedures.
Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to operational and quality requirements.
Train, coach, and evaluate team members, including new hires and transfers.
Provide hands‑on operational support and fill in for team members as needed.
Ensure accurate completion of required documentation, reports, and system entries (e.g., production, maintenance, safety, quality, downtime, or related systems).
Monitor equipment, processes, and work areas to identify and address safety, quality, maintenance, or operational improvement opportunities.
Assist in audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective actions as required.
Support preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., TPM, 5S, efficiency projects).
Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional departments.
Ensure team members have the proper tools, training, and resources to perform their duties.
Complete additional assignments as directed by management.

Job Summary

The Team Lead is a frontline leadership role responsible for supporting and coordinating the day-to-day operations of their assigned department at Axis Pipe and Tube.
