Job summary

Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. in Massillon, Ohio is seeking a Team Leader with strong electrical troubleshooting skills to supervise electricians, support breakdown calls, and maintain accurate records.

You will operate Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs, modify circuits, and interpret blueprints in a fast-paced industrial setting. This role requires 5–10 years of related experience, reading schematics, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5–10 years related work experience.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to get online with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and HMIs to troubleshoot and make program edits.
  • Modify existing electrical circuits to add relays, push buttons, sensors, etc.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and design documents. Ensure all electrical work meets local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Ensure the electrical shop is clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Position Overview

This position must be able to perform the duties outlined below as a Team Leader. Additionally, they must be able to fill‑in to support the Electricians (going out on breakdown calls, flexibility to be called in during emergent breakdowns, and the accurate documentation and record‑keeping associated with these tasks).

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must be able to get online with Allen‑Bradley PLCs and HMIs to troubleshoot and make program edits.
  • Modify existing electrical circuits to add relays, push buttons, sensors, etc.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and design documents. Ensure all electrical work meets local, state, and national electrical codes.
  • Ensure the electrical shop is clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Proven experience in managing and supervising employees (i.e., electricians, etc.)
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include: the training and safety of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; making monthly work schedule for electricians.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five to ten years related work experience.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The team member is frequently required to climb or balance and talk or hear.
  • The team member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
  • Generally, this position’s work duties are split between a typical office setting (70%) and the plant production floor (30%).
  • While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the team member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
  • This position may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures in the plant.
  • The noise level in the plant is frequently loud.
  • The Massillon plant and grounds are tobacco‑free. This means that the use of tobacco of any kind will not be permitted anywhere in the building or on Crown property. This also includes prohibiting the use of any electronic cigarette devices.
