NEI Electric Power Engineering is seeking a senior Team Lead in Renewable Civil to manage engineers, drafters, and technicians on Solar Photovoltaic projects. You will oversee site planning, grading, stormwater modeling, and permitting while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

The role allows Lakewood, CO in-office or full-time remote work. You will mentor staff, develop SBPs, and collaborate with clients to meet technical and commercial goals.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or civil engineering technology.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
  • FE licensure required; PE preferred.
  • Ability to mentor and coach staff and sustain high-quality work.

About the PositionAs a senior level Team Lead in the Renewable Civil group, you will be responsible for managing a team comprised of engineers, drafters, and/or technicians. As a Team Lead, your primary responsibility will be the accurate, timely, and quality completion of Solar Photovoltaic scopes assigned to the team. This includes site planning, grading, stormwater modeling, erosion control design, hydrology analysis, development of SWPPPs, BMPs, site permitting, and stormwater reports. You will assist in the development of the departments Standard Best Practices (SBPs) and enforcing / implementing them where pertinent. Team Leads will be a mentor and coach to employees on their team and help them individually as professionals.This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, CO) and full-time remote candidates.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerforms and manages the detailed physical, civil, and structural design and engineering for all aspects of solar photovoltaic engineeringProduces and reviews full design packages including site plans, elevations, grading plans, road plans, fence details, permitting, drainage plans, construction details, and supporting calculation packageReviews submittals for conformance with client specifications and designPrepares hand and computer-based calculationsPrepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studiesPerforms field inspection and construction supervision servicesReviews the work of other engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel for overall quality and accuracyResearches and evaluates local AHJ design and code requirement and standardsWorks with other project team members to produce project deliverables as assignedOversees project planning, scheduling, and coordination, for small to large scale projectsSupports business development, assists with marketing tasks, and prepares proposals as neededUnderstands scope and develops cost estimates, schedules, and assumptionsMaintains outstanding company-client relationshipsAssists with client contacts and communications pertaining to specific assignments and meetingsEngages in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issuesProvides technical assistance and training for junior engineersAssigns work to and coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staffProvides pre-sales technical support to customers and the NEI outside sales teamReviews customer specifications and assist in formulating and communicating the commercial strategy to best address customer needsDevelops and maintain outstanding company-client relationshipsMaintains high ethical and professional standardsAttends conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate, and graduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality of workAttends safety training and adhere to all safety rules and guidelinesOther responsibilities as assignedMust HaveEducation: Bachelor’s in Civil / Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institutionExperience: 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experienceLicensure: FE is required, PE is preferredProficiency with AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D, and othersStrong skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, ProjectAbility to develop staff through mentoring and coachingPossesses excellent critical thinking skillsCommercial understanding of the engineering or construction industriesAbility to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and internal personnel, exercises strong intrapersonal skillsMust be self-motivated, well-organized, and a skilled decision maker that is comfortable in a fast-paced design environmentPossesses effective written and oral communications skillsGood interpersonal and people skillsApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisWorking ConditionsWork Environment:Work is performed in an office setting and some field work may be requiredTravel:Typical: 15 – 25%Physical Activities:Managerial ResponsibilityMust be able to lift 25lbs.Team Member is responsible for managing their own work and schedule and the work and schedule of their team with input from their supervisor and completing assigned tasks.
