Job description

Position Overview

Team Lead of Casting ensures proper procedures are followed by all employees in area, including safety, quality and production. The role reviews the function and output of area operations to maintain production levels and ensures equipment is repaired and operating correctly.

Areas of Focus

Team Lead of Casting performs all duties required of advanced level employees in the assigned area. The position focuses on distributing department work orders daily, conducts and coordinates training of new employees as needed, and ensures safety supplies and personal protective equipment are used appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Wear all required PPE, including a respirator
• Complete required documentation for production, inventory, SPC, administration, etc.
• Complete required computer system input, analysis and reports relative to the area
• Identify unsatisfactory employee performance and verbally notify employees of procedure violations or behavior problems; inform Supervisor of performance events
• Record employee performance events in the department log when appropriate
• Communicate company policies and procedures to employees
• Provide verbal input regarding employee performance during the employee review process
• Coordinate delivery and production schedules, including changeovers
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
• Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE
• Understand and practice the Quality Policy
• Comply with Blood Lead Health and Hygiene Protocols
• Understand and comply with correct lifting procedures enabling lifting to 50 lbs.
• Comply with Hazard Communication procedures
• Follow all ergonomic recommendations and safety procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Excellent writing and communication skills
