Job description

The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality and quantity standards.

Responsibilities
Safety Protocol
  • Wears all PPE.
  • Follows all safety procedures and policies.
  • Understands, observes and respects safety rules and performs all work in a safe manner. (glasses, shoes, face shield, helmet, gloves, spats, etc.)
  • Ensures all employees are wearing their PPE and following all EHS protocols.
  • Reports all safety concerns to Plant Manager and EHS Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Trains and manages production employees on the assigned shift.
  • Responsible for scheduling manpower according to daily production schedule.
  • Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Follows the equipment and line safety protocols.
Startup Procedures
  • Starts up procedures for furnaces, bag house, line feeder, ovens, computers.
  • Understand how to perform all tasks using the equipment.
  • Responsible for contacting Maintenance and Plant Manager if there are any equipment issues, breakdowns, power outages or safety concerns with the equipment and/or line.
  • Understand the inline process and flow and how to speed it up and slow it down.
  • Responsible for all material and finished product specifications for the finished product.
  • Control the cooling water for the casting line.
  • Turn on the cool water when casting starts and turn it off when casting stops.
Quality
  • Product discoloration reported to Plant Manager.
  • Immediately report any discoloration on the product.
  • Sample and test alloy to ensure it meets product specifications every 30 minutes or as required.
  • Identify casting molds that need coating and assign to Laborer.
  • Ensure all products are uniform, level, stacked properly, banded properly.
  • Inspect finished goods to meet customer specifications, and notify Plant Manager if rework is needed.
  • Train new employees on proper procedures and ensure effectiveness.
  • Record data and stack weight.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping by all team members; keep all areas, stairways, aisles and deck surfaces clear.
Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software to complete reports and logs.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be willing to work in a foundry manufacturing environment, with hot or cold conditions depending on external temperatures.
  • Must be willing to follow all safety protocols and wear all required PPE.
