Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Team Lead -1st shift to guide a production team in Thomasville, NC. The role runs Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, on-site, with a focus on safety, quality and meeting customer specifications.

You will establish daily demand, balance workloads, perform safety audits, coach operators and technicians, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining a collaborative culture. Compensation includes hourly wages and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in a high production manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrates leadership capabilities and able to teach and coach others.
• Good understanding of OSHA safety standards, SPC, and good manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Establishes daily demand and appropriate manpower plans.
• Performs pre-shift safety walk-through and interval safety audits.
• Establishes team goals and communicates progress and results.
• Holds regular problem-solving meetings with teams.
• Audits team to ensure daily work is being performed by operators and technicians.
• Ensures proper balance and flow of work and makes decisions to smooth the loads.
• Monitors production processes continuously.
• Meets routinely with Supervisor to review underperforming processes and makes action plans.
• Establishes employee rotation and training cycles to ensure development and safety.
• Ensures thorough quality checks are completed.
• Follows all safety procedures, rules and guidelines, and notifies supervisor of any existing or potential safety issues.

Quanex is looking for a Team Lead -1st shift to join our team located inThomasville NC.

The Team Lead is responsible for leading a team to efficiently and safely produce quality parts that meet customer specifications with minimal waste. This position is Monday to Thursday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Salary Range: $21.00/hr-$25.00/hr
