Job summary

Learning Care in Washington, DC is seeking a Team Lead to guide classroom activities, manage daily operations, and ensure engaging, developmentally appropriate learning for children.

You will communicate with families, mentor new teachers, and cover opening/closing duties in the absence of leadership, all while upholding licensing standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility and leading a classroom.
• College credits toward Early Childhood Education or Child Development or a CDA.
• Ability to meet state or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Able to work indoors or outdoors with children.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom management and implement curriculum with at least 50% instruction time.
• Communicate and build relationships with families to support child outcomes.
• Mentor and assist with onboarding and training of new hires.
• Assume director-like duties in absence of Director or Assistant Director, including opening/closing.

As a Team Lead, you are a:

• Teacher! Promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children in your care. Take the lead on classroom management and curriculum implementation. Classroom instruction is at least 50% of weekly schedule.
• Communicator! Communicate and build relationships with families to promote achievement for the child and to support your center’s success.
• Mentor! Be responsible for, or assisting with, the management, training, and mentoring of new hires and your fellow Teachers, as you create fun, interactive learning experiences to share with the preschool children.
• Leader! Take on the duties of Director or Assistant Director in his/her absence, including opening and closing the school.
• Expert! Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards.

We want energetic, dependable, passionate individuals who are at least 18 and have:

• Experience in a licensed childcare facility, leading a classroom, and implementing lesson plans.
• College credits towards Early Childhood Education or Child Development degree or a CDA, preferred.
• The ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Compensation base of $22.23 based on Position, Education and Experience. Bi-weekly and Daily Pay options
• Health insurance (medical, dental, vision, and FSA) provided for full-time employees, Limited medical offered for part-time workers
