Job summary

CoorsTek, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a Team Lead to direct day-to-day activities of operators on a shift, ensuring production meets quality standards and safety requirements.

The role emphasizes coaching a collaborative team environment to achieve department goals while maintaining a clean work area. You will monitor workflow, set up equipment, document production data, train new employees, and communicate performance updates to the supervisor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct work of operators following production schedule; communicate production challenges and offer solutions to department supervisor.
• Maintain production data (workflow and scrap) in appropriate computer database.
• Provide continual updates to department supervisor on employee performance and conduct issues.
• Operate and/or setup a variety of manufacturing equipment in assigned area to produce acceptable product per work instructions.
• Inspect parts for defects as part of in-process inspection; record results, adjust process/machine or notify appropriate person of deviation when needed.
• Partner with department supervisor and production planner to determine work flow and schedule.
• Train and coach incoming employees on department work instructions, processes, procedures and policies.
• Monitor, review and approve employee time records in a consistent and timely manner.
• Gather improvement ideas, assist with implementation and maintain as directed by department supervisor.
• Wears required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where mandatory.

Job Title

Team Lead

Responsible for directing day to day activities of workers for a specific shift or area and for the production of acceptable product. Leads and encourages a team environment to meet departmental goals and objectives. Maintains work area cleanliness. (No people management responsibilities (e.g. performance management and reviews, hiring, etc.).

Job Requirements:

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• One (1) year relevant experience

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to provide and receive verbal and written instructions
• Intermediate math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, decimals and fractions) and computer skills
• Demonstrated leadership and coaching/mentoring ability
• Ability to resolve conflict in a professional manner
• Ability to problem solve and collaborate cross functionally when issues arise
• Intermediate knowledge of production processes and equipment within assigned area
• Must exhibit attention to detail as well as excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds

Target Hiring Range

: USD 23.00 - USD 29.00
