Job summary

WashU Car Wash in Niles, IL is seeking a Team Lead to manage daily shift operations and guide a team toward excellent customer experiences. You will balance service quality with sales and operational standards, while promoting premium memberships.

The role offers growth opportunities into management positions and a supportive, team-driven culture. Training is provided to new leaders in a fast-paced express car wash setting.

Qualifications

• Leadership or supervisory experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service preferred but not required.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work weekends/holidays.
• Comfortable working outdoors and staying active during shift.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, lift and perform physical tasks.
• No prior car wash experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shift operations and help the team meet performance goals.
• Model excellent customer service and professionalism to set the pace.
• Coach team members on service, sales, and operational expectations.
• Promote Unlimited Wash Club memberships and premium services.
• Assist customers and resolve questions promptly and professionally.
• Open or close the site when assigned.
• Monitor wash equipment and communicate maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility for customers and employees.
• Track sales, memberships, vehicle counts, and shift activities.
• Support inventory management and daily operational tasks.
• Create a positive, energetic environment where teammates can succeed.

Location: Niles, IL
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Compensation: $16-$18 per hour plus performance incentives and commission (earning potential of $21+ per hour)

What You'll Be Responsible For

Every shift is different, but your focus will always be on creating a great experience for both customers and team members.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading daily shift operations and helping the team meet performance goals
• Setting the pace by modeling excellent customer service and professionalism
• Coaching team members on service, sales, and operational expectations
• Promoting Unlimited Wash Club memberships and premium services
• Assisting with customer questions and resolving concerns quickly and professionally
• Opening or closing the site when assigned
• Monitoring wash equipment and communicating maintenance needs
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility for customers and employees
• Tracking operational metrics such as sales, memberships, vehicle counts, and shift activities
• Supporting inventory management and daily operational tasks
• Creating a positive, energetic environment where teammates can succeed

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Provides exceptional customer service while balancing operational priorities
• Has previous leadership, retail, hospitality, restaurant, or customer service experience (preferred but not required)
• Is dependable, punctual, and willing to work weekends and holidays
• Can comfortably work outdoors and remain active throughout the shift
• Is able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks as part of normal job duties

No previous car wash experience? That's okay. We'll provide the training, coaching, and support needed to help you become a successful leader.
