JOB TITLE: Team Coach - Gymnastics

DEPARTMENT: Sports and Camps

REPORTS TO: Gymnastics Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Coaches compulsory and/or optional team gymnasts

Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area.

DESCRIPTION: Responsible for providing gymnastics instruction for USAG and Xcel competitive gymnasts. Must have gymnastics team coaching experience and utilize a positive coaching style. Knowledge of safe spotting techniques and appropriate skill progressions are essential.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Experience coaching competitive gymnastics through Level 6
• Communicate with athletes in a positive and encouraging manner
• Create and implement team practice lesson plans
• Interact professionally with participants, parents, and supervisors
• Collaborate as part of the gymnastics coaching team
• Availability on weekends to coach athletes in competitions
• Dependable and responsible
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Follow all MJCCA emergency and safety procedures
• Complete incident and injury reports as necessary

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is physically demanding and involves lifting, holding, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be able to stand for extended periods of time, demonstrate body positions, and bend over to assist students with performing gymnastics skills. Setting up equipment and spotting participants through skills on all apparatus is required.

Certifications

• USA Gymnastics Safety Certification (or willing to obtain within 3 months)
• CPR Certification (or willing to obtain within 3 months)
