Job Description: Team Attendant (Phoenix Mercury)
This position assists the Basketball Operations department before, during, and after Phoenix Mercury games. The role involves a variety of tasks focused on supporting court management and creating a safe game-day environment for teams, referees, and players.
Responsibilities:
• Pre-game: Assisting players (home and visiting) during warm-ups (rebounding), preparing player benches, organizing promotional items, and assisting with laundry services.
• During the Game: Mopping the court, delivering/collecting food and water for staff, and assisting during time-outs.
• Post-game: Assisting with free throws, supporting staff with cleanup and storage, and performing other assigned duties.
Specific Tasks Include:
• Rebounding for players.
• Preparing player benches.
• Organizing in-game promotional materials.
• Assisting with laundry.
• Moping the court during gameplay.
• Delivering and collecting food and water for staff.
• Supporting staff with post-game cleanup and storage.
Requirements:
• Availability to work 7-8 hours per home game (arriving 3 hours before and departing 2 hours after).
• Professionalism, good judgment, and maturity in handling confidential information.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (web or HTML experience is a plus).
• Minimum age of 16.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
• Ability to move throughout the arena for extended periods.
• Primarily indoor work, with minimal exposure to weather.
• Sedentary work (exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally).
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
