Job summary

The University of New England invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor in Biomedical Sciences. The position distributes 80% teaching and 20% research/service, joining a collaborative team of basic scientists and clinicians in Portland, ME.

Qualifications

  • Masters or PhD in anatomy.
  • Experience teaching human gross anatomy.
  • 3 years of faculty experience in a college of medicine preferred.
  • Curricular and teaching experience with learner supervision and evaluation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Evidence of accomplishments, skills, and publications.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate small groups, teach Osteopathic Clinical Skills and related courses; teach at UNE OPTI and core rotation sites; participate in CME programs.
  • Directly instruct osteopathic medical and graduate students through lectures, labs, and prosections.
  • Help plan and implement the curriculum and advance the college’s vision and mission.
  • Teach in other colleges and learner programs as assigned; contribute to program development.
  • Support departmental and inter-college educational and research collaborations.
  • Maintain communication with department, administration, and other colleges; participate in committees.
  • Engage in community relations to raise visibility of the department and UNE.

Education

Masters or PhD in anatomy

Publications or scholarly activity
