Job summary

John Hughes Golf in Orlando, Florida seeks a Teaching Professional to join our acclaimed team under PGA Master John Hughes. You will coach golfers of all levels, lead private sessions, group clinics and vacation schools, and contribute to program development.

In the first year, earnings potential ranges from $50k–$75k+, with opportunities to grow as programs expand. We provide marketing support, uniforms, admin infrastructure, and access to top teaching technologies.

Qualifications

  • PGA Class A or committed to achieving Class A membership.
  • Five to ten years of teaching experience with tech-enabled coaching.
  • Ability to grow client portfolio, possibly with a second language.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and conduct junior and adult developmental programs.
  • Lead private coaching sessions and vacation golf schools.
  • Conduct monthly group golf school programs.
  • Offer remote and virtual golf lessons.
  • Support corporate clinics and events.

The Opportunity

As we continue to expand our offerings, we're looking for talented and ambitious Golf Coaches and Teaching Professionals to join our team. Under John's mentorship, you'll have countless opportunities to grow your career in the vibrant Orlando market.

What to Expect

We're genuinely excited about this role's potential for a motivated and ambitious candidate. In your first year, you can look forward to earning potential of $ 50k-$75k or more. This estimate is based on current coaching requests that have gone unmet and the abundance of additional programming opportunities. As we continue to expand our programs and facilities and you help us grow our customer base, you can expect your earning potential to increase substantially.

Contract Terms

As the Teaching Professional(s), you'll have an Independent Contractor relationship with John Hughes Golf. We understand that the terms of your contract are important, and we're willing to negotiate incentives, including a percentage of gross coaching revenues, coverage of PGA Dues, reimbursement for educational expenses, and more, to ensure your needs and interests are met. You must maintain business liability insurance, naming John Hughes Golf and the facilities where you practice as additional insured.

At John Hughes Golf, we're committed to supporting you every step of the way. We cover all marketing expenses and ensure you have the necessary administrative infrastructure and physical equipment to operate smoothly across multiple programs. We provide uniforms and other branded items to help you proudly represent our brand. To further support your coaching practice, we'll furnish you with state-of-the-art technology and actively market your services locally and nationally.

Experience Required
The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone with an open and creative mindset who is unafraid to take risks and learn from mistakes. You're relentless in your passion for continuous learning and strive to exceed expectations. Here are the qualities we're seeking:

  • PGA of America Class "A" Member or an Associate committed to achieving Class "A" membership or an LPGA Class "A" Member.
  • Five to ten years of teaching experience, with competent knowledge and use of technology within their teaching philosophy. We currently use OnForm, FlightScope, Smart2Move, SportsBox, and other technologies to support our coaching practices.
  • Proficiency in a second language will significantly increase a candidate's ability to grow their client portfolio.
  • Ancillary skills that increase your creativity, marketing, and leadership potential and will elevate current and future coaching programs.

  • Managing and conducting junior and adult developmental programs.
  • Leading private coaching sessions and vacation golf schools.
  • Conducting private coaching sessions.
  • Conducting 1-to-1, 2-to-1, and 3-to-1 vacation golf school programs.
  • Conducting monthly group golf school programs.
  • Conducting remote and virtual golf lessons.
  • Corporate clinics and events.
  • Other programs and coaching opportunities as they become available
