Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a BELS Teaching Lab Junior Engineer to support more than 20 lab courses across multiple departments and spaces, directly impacting hundreds of students each quarter. You will oversee specialized equipment, test and measurement instrumentation, and software essential for hands‑on learning and practical engineering experience.

The role includes inventory, procurement, lab computer setup, AV support for events, and assisting with receiving and poster printing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
• Proficiency with lab benchtop test and measurement equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies).
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and stock instructional lab supplies and equipment.
• Set up, calibrate and troubleshoot lab instruments for coursework.
• Provide basic training on lab equipment to TAs and students.
• Support AV, printing, and receiving workflows as needed.
