Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• 3+ years of experience in providing engineering support within educational or research environments.
• Proficiency in using development tools for microprocessors (e.g., ARM, AVR, PIC, Intel), CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), and other technologies relevant to electrical engineering, computer science, and autonomous or RF systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues, propose solutions, and implement effective resolutions.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders including faculty, students, and technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Under the general direction of the Senior Development Engineer, provide engineering and technical support across the instructional laboratories within EECS. Assist faculty, instructors, PIs, and senior staff in setup, integration, testing, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instructional and research lab equipment across electronics, embedded systems, robotics, RF technologies, and instrumentation.
• Support installation, configuration, integration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instructional lab technologies and related systems, including circuits, sensors, embedded platforms, robotic systems, RF equipment, instrumentation, and networked devices.
• Assist in implementing and evaluating new laboratory technologies, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure improvements while ensuring compatibility, reliability, maintainability, and safety compliance.
• Work with senior staff, faculty, students, and tech staff on planning, implementing, and maintaining instructional lab projects; assist in documenting lab systems for instructional goals.
