Job summary

Excel Academy Charter Schools in Boston is seeking candidates for the Teaching Fellowship, a year-long teacher development program. Fellows spend the first half of the school-year building Classroom Culture and Management, then focus on Content and Lesson Instruction in the second half.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree preferred.
• Two years teaching experience in an urban public or charter school setting is preferred but not required.
• Commitment to all students and Excel's mission, including addressing inequity in education.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Observe classrooms to understand different teaching styles and approaches.
• Receive weekly coaching from an experienced Mentor Teacher.
• Assist with classroom coverage for absent teachers and participate in development opportunities.
• Prepare to step into lead teaching roles with ongoing professional growth.
