Excel Academy Charter School invites applicants to join its Teaching Fellowship, a year-long intensive teacher development program in East Boston. Fellows rotate focus from classroom culture and management to content and instruction, with mentorship, weekly coaching, and bi-weekly professional development sessions.

Fellows may transition to lead teaching roles; compensation increases during coverage for absent teachers, with a committed pathway to interview for the following school year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years teaching experience in an urban public or charter school setting preferred.
• Commitment to all students and Excel Academy’s mission; dedication to antiracist education and DEI.

Responsabilités

• Develop Classroom Culture and Management practices in the first half of the year.
• Develop Content and Lesson Instruction practices in the second half of the year.
• Be paired with a Mentor Teacher; participate in weekly coaching meetings and classroom observations.
• Support absent teachers with classroom coverage; engage in bi‑weekly professional development sessions.
