Job summary

BASIS Ed in Pflugerville is seeking a Teaching Fellow to join a bright, passionate teaching team. The role may teach a select number of courses and/or substitute for an existing teacher, helping you learn BASIS Charter School approaches while preparing for full-time classroom teaching.

Assist with routines across school life, support students’ well-being, and contribute to a strong, achievement-oriented culture. This entry-level role offers growth within BASIS teaching methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory state background check.
• Ability to work full time.
• Willingness to take and pass the NES Elementary Education Assessment, if necessary.
• Willingness to be considered for other campuses beyond the original campus.
• Willingness to acquire and maintain BASIS teaching methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Classroom teaching, both part-time and as a substitute.
• Assist with classroom management.
• Student academic support and tutoring.
• Assist with events, labs, and testing.
• Work with teachers to evaluate student progress, needs, and gains.
• Proctoring assessments.
• Monitor non-scheduled time and supervision duties.
• Support Deans and Directors of Student Affairs with behavior management.
• Assist the school with managing and executing key programs.
